37 TIPS TO PASS THE UPCAT

1. It's UP or PMA ( pahinga muna anak)
-UP or nothing, do or die, now or never

2. Think of the UPCAT as a GAME
-it's a game of time pressure, accuracy and alertness

3. Know the UPCAT
-6:30/12:30, you'll be asked to form your lines.

14. Spend time to scan over the entire subtest
-when the examiner says "You may begin" the first thing to do is to STOP
-scan the pages

-tip for long questions, the real question is the last statement.
-knowing the problem is half the solution

16. Cycle through the UPCAT
1st- scan
2nd- read and answer questions that can be solved easily.
3rd- answer moderate items. (the items you know how to solve but will take you a longer time to do so)

- "use your best judgment" if the question is wrong or has no answer

21. Have a watch when you take the exam
-time the test

22. Eliminate wrong answers
-it's not about getting the correct answers, it's about having the most number of correct items.

23. hide the choices when reading the question
-to not be distracted y plausible answer choices.

24. Consider every question as a true of false question

25. take note of 100% words & qualifiers
100% words(absolutely, all, always, best, every, certainly, invariably, never, without exception, only, worst)
100% words are usually false

qualifiers (generally, frequently, many, may, most, might, much, oftne, possibly, probably, seldom)
*they tend to be true,. more often than not is the correct answer

26.Beware of NOTA & AOTA
*all of the above is often the correct answer
-None of the above is usually wrong

27. keep an eye out for grammatical errors
-the only things important are the questions & the answers.

28. Watch out for negative words
- think of the opposite ;P because they can reverse the meaning of the sentence

29. Choose NOT "funny" options

30. Be alert for repeating topics

31. Cross out extremes

32. skim & scan long paragraphs

33. Work backwards
-work from known to unknown

Prayers

Hello 4-3! Dahil love ko kayo, ito na yung copy ng mga prayers:

Apostle's Creed
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son our, Lord
He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit an born of the virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried.
He descended to the dead. On the third day He rose again.
He ascended in to heaven, and seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of Saints,
the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and live everlasting. Amen

Angelus (basta Hail Mary after every L and R)
L: The angel of the Lord, declared unto Mary
R: And she conceived of the Holy Spirit
L: Behold the handmaid of the Lord
R: Be it done unto me according to thy word
L: And the word was made flesh
R: And dwelt among us
L: Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God
R: That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ
L: Let us pray
All: Pour forth, we bessech you O Lord, Your grace into our hearts, that, we to whom the Incarnation of Christ Your Son, was made known by the message of an Angel, may by His passion and Cross, be brought to the glory of his resurrection. Through the same Christ our Lord. Amen
Glory be

Hail Holy Queen
Hail Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy!
Hail our life, our sweetness and our hope!
To you do we cry, poor banished
childre of Eve, to you do we send up our sighs,
mourning and weeping in this valley, of tears.
Turn, then, most graciou advocate,
thine eyes of mercy towards us; and
after this our exile show unto us the
blessed fruit of your womb Jesus;
O clement, O loving, O Sweet Virgin Mary.
Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God.
That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Sorry, tinatamad na kong magtype, kaya kayo na lang bahala sa Mysteries of the Rosary! Please study, ok? Thank you!

Lesson Plan and Parent's Consent on Monday!:)

Hello 4-3! Do not forget to submit your parent's consent and lesson plan on monday,ok?

For the lesson plan:
Topic: Basic Prayers
Audience: Grade 2 students
Time Frame: 1 hour

Format: (yung naka bold and color orange)
I. Opening Prayer
-be creative
-ask you students to lead

II. Motivation
- think of activity that will awaken their spirit and will truly listen to you. (5-10 minutes)

III. Lesson Proper
-discuss the significance, the purpose and the good effect prayer in our lives
-for your sacred scripture: Isaiah 29:13
" God made it clear that prayer by moving the lips alone is not enough. It must be accompanied by the spirit of service, justice and concern for the welfare of others."
- explain the reading with them and challenge them also to pray sincerely.
-explain also the two kinds of prayer: Formula Prayer and Spontaneous Prayer

Formula Prayer
-it is rooted in the Sacred Scriptures and Tradition of the Church ( In tagalog: Ito ay naka-ugat sa ating Biblia at Tradisyon ng simbahan)
-it contains the basic doctrines of our faith (Ito ay naglalaman ng mga katotohanan ng ating pananampalataya)

Spontaneous Prayer:
-we used our own words
-it comes from our heart

5 ways of praying
1. Formal Prayers/ Formula Prayers
2. Talking to God/ spontaneous prayers
3. sacred Scripture- God Speaks to us through the Bible
4. The Rosary- it keeps us close to God and to our Lady, and keeps us rooted in the central truths of our Christian Faith.
5. Silence-listen to our hearts so we can listen to God

Now, teach them how to pray; the proper position, the proper disposition and gestures.
Reminder: Do not just let them memorize the prayers, let them understand it. Tell stories in the bible beacuse these prayers are rooted in the Scriptures:
- the Sign of the Cross
- The Lord's Prayer
-Hail Mary
- Glory Be
- The Apostle's Creed
-The Angelus
- Morning Offering
- Prayer to the Holy Spirit
- Prayer to the Guardian Angel

IV. Evaluation
- you may give quiz or ask him/her if they learn something.
- Give them Assighnment: Research on their favorit saint. ( ang labo nito :)))

V. Closing Prayer
-you may ask the students to lead the prayer.

So yung sa gift, kailangan daw pare-pareho. Miss suggested na food na lang daw or "mirienda". Ok lang ba 'yan na lang, tapos ako na lang bibili and magbabayad na lang kayo? Let's talk about it on Monday, ok?:))
