Sacred Vessels
1. Chalice – the most sacred of all the vessels; cup which holds the wine for consecration
2. Ciborium – resembles the chalice except that it has a cover
3. Paten – small plate in which the host is laid
4. Cruets – vessels from which the acolyte or sacristan pours water and wine into the chalice held by the celebrant
5. Incense/ incense boat – perfume burned on a certain occasions, as a high Mass and Benediction; symbol of prayer
6. Monstrance – large metal container used for exposition and benediction of the Blessed Sacrament
Sacred Vestments
1. Alb – white linen tunic which envelopes the priest’s whole body
2. Amice – piece of white linen cloth which cover the priest’s shoulder
3. Chasuble – uppermost vestment worn by the celebrant at Mass
4. Stole –a long silk band that fits around the neck and is crossed on the breast of the priest
5. Cincture\girdle - the cord which fastens the alb at the waist
6. Maniple – a short narrow strip of cloth which hangs from the left arm
Sacred Altar Linens
1. Pall – small square piece of linen starched stiff, used to cover the chalice
2. Corporal – square on fine linen, with a small cross worked in the center
3. Purificator – an oblong piece of line, folded thrice, and placed over the chalice
